Kode Chemoinformatics moved its first steps in 2012 as an internal department of Kode srl and became an independent company (subsidiary of Kode) in 2019. Our staff shares the passion for chemoinformatics, cutting edge data analysis & visualization techniques, blending different skills and backgrounds. We encourage continuous cross-contamination to reach our mission: provide effective solutions to customers and partners.
Despite the relatively short history of Kode Chemoinformatics, its scientific and technical roots are very deep thanks to its founder Alberto Manganaro. After graduating in Computer Science, he gained a deep understanding of QSAR and chemometrics techniques working in the group of Prof. Roberto Todeschini (University of Milano-Bicocca). During the time spent in his group, Alberto contributed to develop the well known software for molecular descriptors calculation Dragon. Soon after, Alberto had the chance to work with the group of Prof. Emilio Benfenati (“Mario Negri” Institute for Pharmacological Research), where he developed many QSAR applications in the field of Eco-Toxicology. The collaboration with Prof. Benfenati is still in place and produced many open source applications funded by EU projects or Agencies.
